14/14 Dungeons Complete

Today I got to beat the final boss for the first time (personally, it needs to be harder)! This means the bulk of the game's content is done, which is a huge sigh of relief for me. There is still more to do, like go back and fix up some loose ends/unfinished quests in previous dungeons. Maybe add some secret levels? You'll have to play to find out!

Now there's just a few finishes touches left, and of course, having a play through to make sure everything is balanced. I'm hoping to put up a trailer as my next update.

Im hoping you put up a 1.0 or a 0.9 as the next update XD, also make sure to add more custom looks and stuff. if a game where you attempt to make a create a sim you need more clothing options..tons..dozens..hundreds!! ..ok maybe not hundreds but a whole lot.

also if it was really "that" easy just add a hard mode with everything has X2 hp X1.2 attack X1.2 defence and everything will be fine :p

one more thing, few of the same weapons, or less similar weapons would be more interesting. try something like bombs (drop/throw) or a gun (fast/accurate) ..and even tho i only said rather violent things you DID nail most of the basic weapons ;P

also i dont know about other people but i find in a game with a jump button its just more fun :D if it would seriously be to hard to code then just make it so you cant jump over anything you couldn't walk over, but jumping is fun. is also adds more control. (and expecially expected in action rpgs) seeing as you have been working on this so long it woulod definatly be a improvement.

also...YAAY ;3

I want to add more clothes but don't really have the graphics, there already is a hard mode, and it's too late in development to add in a major change like jumping.

I was already planning a bomb weapon because there is the perfect NPC to hand them out. But I was just thinking of throwing them and never thought about dropping them and waiting for them to explode. That is a really good idea! The real question is whether or not the bomb can harm fellow players when it explodes.

Also, feel free to give me more weapon ideas. The bulk of what's left to make is weapons.

Right now I've got a bunch of items to make and even more testing to do. I want to wait to give a release date until I know I will be able to finish in time.

When I have a release date in mind, I will post an update on the blog.

one attack could be drop the bomb the other could be throw

also why not have a "strange" section that sorta works like a sword or axe but are the joke weapons. like a sign or a chair or maybe a sewing machine XD

while im at it a nail gun would be funny to :p

You can just release what you have as 1.0 and a updated version with perfect bug kills new weapons and areas as 1.1

anthony said...

ya he should but its ok if he doesnt just cant wait for it to be all done

It's definitely not ready to be released. I was just testing with a friend earlier today and one of the bosses is way too hard. It's barely even possible.

Hey I found a bug
it seems that the green shining grass in upper goblin mines get rendered overtop of the boulders that you can push around.

Are there very many 3-star weapons in the full version? Because I can't find any in the demo.

Moondoggie said...

Yeah, you should not have a problem finding 3-star weapons in the full version.

Dawnbomb said...

You should add up to 5 star weps :3

Moondoggie said...

When you level up and fight in the later dungeons, you will find weapons higher than 5 stars.

Can you give us a status update?

It's been like 2 months. It's like he's not working on it anymore.

Do you know what you could do with this? You could port it onto Wiiware. I mean, it's got a control scheme that perfectly fits a Wiimote, and it could be played easier with actual controllers, and it would probably reach a lot more people. You would need to actually finish the game though...

That sounds like a good idea. In fact, most of the games Mike made has been made with controls to be used with wiimotes. That's generally what we use to play when testing. We connect the wiimote to the laptop using bluetooth. I haven't really talked to Mike too much since my last break from school, so I'm still in the shadows to as what he is doing. From the last version that I saw, we tried to balance the difficulty of the bosses and he has been working on the quests and testing weapons, so hopefully he can post an update soon to inform everyone. Sorry for not being of much help.

I don't really know much about porting something to Wiiware, but yes, the controls were designed with the Wiimote in mind. And for questions about progress, I just posted a new update. I was going to update the blog last week, but go sidetracked!
